Meet Ryan and Xiaxing, current Boosalis Baking & Café co-owners in Centerville. Ryan spent years in Europe, studying at a prestigious hotel school in Switzerland while earning a degree in international hospitality management in the UK. His time in Europe it made him fall head over heels for croissants and European pasties. Even while he’s not working full-time in hospitality, his love for those pastries has never faded. As part of his profession, he travels worldwide, searching for the best croissant. In 2015, when he moved to the USA, he stumbled upon a small bakery in Dayton, OH, and he was blown away to find such a world-class croissant. He quickly became good friends with Matt Boosalis.
In 2020, Matt approached the couple to team up and open a store in Kenwood. Matt trained Ryan’s wife, Xiaxing, for two years to make amazing pastries and run the bakery. Since then, Xiaxing has poured her heart into baking, constantly improving her skills. She’s even trained with some of the world’s best pastry chefs.
In 2023, as the Centerville store’s lease was approaching its end, Matt decided to move to Cincinnati while Ryan and Xiaxing took ownership of the bakery in Centerville, where they continued to delight their customers and the community daily.
